and there goes february as well ...
we finally got some rain to play in ... not really sure why i took the picture inside and not outside.

jack is gearing up for his birthday ... that's pretty much it.

we visited john's family in las vegas (this is cousin taner). we had fun with everyone ... we did a lot of walking, visited an aquarium & basically watched aidan expend lots & lots of energy. we brought my cousin daniel along to help keep aidan entertained ... i think he's still recovering.

aidan lying in bed ready to go to sleep:
"mommy, i need to tell you two stories, okay? just two"
"okay"
"once upon a time there was a little boy, ME!"
(silence, scrunched up face, thinking noises)
"mommy, i don't have any stories yet, i'm too little"

another january ends
grandma at the river with the kids ... it seems that whoever was standing behind me to get their attention for the photo should have been bending down just a wee bit lower-even jack is looking to the heavens.

jack: much more vocal in the past couple of weeks (high pitched screaming is super fun when we're in quiet places with strangers)...he's crawling (army style)...getting teeth up on top...is using his new found vocals to yell back at aidan when he feels it's necessary (often)...he does 'arms up' for 'how big is jack?' (thanks to grandma)...high fives...and is getting less predictable (you'll be seeing less of us outside our home, feel free to stop by though).
aidan: moments after this picture was taken aidan found a 4ish foot hole in the sand that wasn't visible from the side, he fell in, it was too deep for him to stand, he was floating on his back with a look of horror, i ran in after him with all my clothes on (all of this occurred in about a 10 second window). never scary for me (there was nowhere for him to go), very scary for him. after i got him dried off and into clean clothes he was ready to go back and play at the beach. note: bring a change of clothes for myself next time as well. and onto the day to day: potty training going well (i'd say a 95% success rate)...school is great (he likes to play with the older kids-i figure he wants to learn newer, more sophisticated tactics when trying to attack jack)...stuttering is completely gone and he's talking even more now...he really, really wants jack to play with him...he's still getting up numerous times before falling asleep at night (despite still no toys or books in his room and amy IV? V? which was dismantling the light)...he has also been enjoying waking up during the 5:00 hour in the morning and turning the lights in the bathroom and hallway on...he loves cartoons...he's still doing gymnastics and loves it (the trampoline is where his future lies)...and he's recently chewed through two binkies (he's been told that's two less in the house for him to use-that leaves us 3 or so floating around).
