the coolest present ever!

forewarning! you're going to want to trade grandparents.

easter

here we are in all our 'there are four of us now, what have we done?' glory

aidan has just discovered that the bunny hid little balls in the plastic eggs. since he's obsessed with balls of any kind, this was quite a find for him

the first picture of all the cousins (patrick, casey, jack & aidan)

grandma & papa bought us a really, really cool present to welcome in our early summer weather ... check out the video to follow!

here aidan was asked to smile ... i'm not sure he grasped the concept

some random photos

fun at ikea! no seriously, this is the slide at ikea and my child couldn't have been more excited to be there!

with grandma (or 'mama' as aidan prounounces it)

future GQ cover dude

hanging out at the beach ... i only ate sand once ... it's still a learning process

jack

and he continues to sleep & sleep & sleep ... aidan wasn't so cooperative in the early days.

one of the only pictures we have with open eyes ... i think we'll have to nickname him mellow jack.

sweet! mommy went to the hospital and came home with a doll that moves!

so far, so good on the 'gentle' kisses ... although aidan does like to lean on jack when he's gently kissing him.

the excitement in the house is palpable ... you should see us all at 2 a.m.

...and we're now a family of four

at two weeks old we still have a very sleepy & well behaved little baby. jack thomas arrived as planned (good little thing that he is) on the morning of march 11th. aidan is adjusting well so far ... that said, he hasn't had much competition from his brother. as for me, i can't wait to get back into the swing of things ... as soon as the c-section hangover wears off i plan to be supermom ... at least until jack wakes up in a few weeks. pictures to follow ...

29 February 2008

it's confirmed

not that it wasn't before, but the c-section will definitely be on the 11th. i saw the doctor today and he reminded me to arrive at 5:30am. what an appropriate way to start life with a newborn again. i've also been reminded by several people that i could go into labor prior to my delivery date. a thought that for some reason never occurred to me. it doesn't seem likely, but the good news is that i now have something else to worry about. seriously, just what i needed. can someone remind john to paint the baby's room because the unnamed wedge will be here in a week and a half?!

27 February 2008

then we realized ...

i guess when you have your first child you kind of forget that eventually there's a good chance more will be coming. that said, our new one arrives in two weeks and i figured i better change the address of our webpage. can you imagine yet-to-be-named's horror at having to be chronicled under his big brother's name? so, we are now wedgefamily.blogspot.com. of course, you can still read the old posts at aidan-john.blogspot.com (link to the right). it will always serve as a memento of the 5 minutes aidan was an only child. we'll keep you posted on the comings and goings of us. in the meantime, keep those name suggestions coming!
