did i forget to mention?

we're potty training. in light of going on about our challenges with the toddler, i should share that he is an excellent pottier. we've had very, very few accidents since christmas (and only #1s) ... he did have a #2 accident one day at school, but they probably deserved it.

he's great about going when asked & good about telling when he has to go. he says "i'm going potty mommy" for needing to go potty -- if he has an accident, he tells me he's leaked (because that's what we call it in the morning when his diaper has soaked through to his PJs). he enjoys clapping for himself and partaking in a fruit snack (gummy) or m&m after the event.

the highlight of potty training thus far ... we went to six flags one day with a pull-up on him and it was perfectly dry when we hit the car to go home. speaking of six flags & public restrooms
, what's with kids needing to touch every inch of the toilet when they sit there?!? i'm quickly learning how to navigate my own neurosis in order not to pass them down. we use lots of hand sanitizer.

oh, and one last thing ... he insisted on the dora pull-ups (which i call underwear and just use as a back up) rather than the diego ones. so if you see a kid getting picked on at the playground because he has pink panties on, can you jump in?
